Crystal Palace to speak to Tony Pulis

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has confirmed he intends to speak to Tony Pulis about the possibility of succeeding Ian Holloway.

Tony Pulis guided Stoke to the Premier League in 2008 and enjoyed five seasons in the top flight.

Daly: Exit an indictment of modern game

Holloway left Selhurst Park on Wednesday after Palace, promoted via the playoffs last season, lost seven of their opening eight fixtures in the Premier League.

Several names have been linked with the vacancy, including Roberto Di Matteo, Martin O’Neill, Avram Grant and former Palace boss Neil Warnock, and Parish confirmed to talkSPORT that several managers were under consideration.

"There are some obvious names and to not have a conversation with them, if they’re happy to do that, would be silly,” he said.

He confirmed Pulis, who has been out of work since leaving Stoke City at the end of last season, would be among those contacted.

"He's never been relegated, and he's out of work. We'll look," he said. "I'm sure we'll try and contact him, and if he's interested we'll have a chat with him and see where we go, but I don't want to put pressure on anybody. We've started making a list -- we'll throw everybody into that and see who we want to see."
