Klopp denies Chelsea and City rejection

Borussia Dortmund coach Juergen Klopp has denied telling the press that he turned down management offers from Chelsea and Manchester City, but stated that he may want to work in England some day.

Juergen Klopp insists he did not tell the media that he had rejected Chelsea and City this summer.
Juergen Klopp insists he did not tell the media that he had rejected Chelsea and City this summer.

Klopp recently granted an interview to the Sun newspaper and, although it was reported that Chelsea and City had approached him, the Dortmund boss denied he said this -- while still reserving praise for the reporter.

"English newspapers are similar to German newspapers," Klopp said. "I think it was a summary of all I said, because I never said I had offers from these two clubs. I think it was The Sun. The journalist was a nice guy and I was surprised by this. We hear a lot of things about The Sun in Germany.

"It's very important in life for me and all the other guys to be the lucky guy in the right moment at the right place, and we all feel it's the right moment and the right place. I am 46 and in some cases of life it's not so young and in some cases it's young enough.

"I have to work and I want to work for a few more years, and maybe in the future when my English is better, maybe I will come to England. But in this moment, there's no chance to think about it.

"It's a message -- you don't always have to wait for something that seems better. The grass isn't always greener and my biggest skill is to see luck when I have it. So I don't think about different clubs and I never said the name of one or the other."
