Postecoglou to interview with FFA

Socceroos' coaching frontrunner Ange Postecoglou expects to hold his first interview with Football Federation Australia (FFA) officials this weekend.

Postecoglou says he hasn't spoken directly with the FFA about replacing Holger Osieck, who was sacked as Australian coach last weekend.

"I assume we'll have some sort of discussions over the weekend about what is going to happen," Postecoglou said after coaching Melbourne Victory to a 2-2 away draw against Adelaide United on Friday night.

"As I sit here right now, nothing has really changed from 24 hours ago."

Postecoglou said he was uncertain whether he would coach the Victory again.

"I coach like every game is like my last game in charge, that is what coaching is about," he said.

"You don't think too far ahead. But if you're asking me if I know that was my last game in charge? Then, no, I don't.

"I assume we'll have some discussions over the coming days, as other people will, and we'll go through it there."

After the Victory scored two late goals to draw in Adelaide, an animated Postecoglou warmly applauded his players and travelling fans. But Postecoglou, in a three-way battle with Graham Arnold and Tony Popovic to win the national coaching job, said nothing wider should be read into his reaction.

"I was ecstatic for the players, for the supporters - I'm very passionate about what we're doing here and I wanted reward today for what I thought was an outstanding display of character by the players wearing Melbourne Victory shirts," he said.
