Toulalan cools Falcao to Madrid talk

Jeremy Toulalan has countered claims that Monaco teammate Radamel Falcao wants to move to Real Madrid, saying: "I don't get the impression he wants to leave."

Jeremy Toulalan believes Falcao will be staying put in the principality.

Valdes keen on Monaco move

Falcao, 27, has scored seven goals in nine Ligue 1 games since moving to the principality from Atletico Madrid in an estimated 60 million euro summer move.

Despite his rapid integration into life in France, speculation persists in Spain the Colombia striker wants to move back to the Spanish capital, rumours fuelled by Madrid president Florentino Perez's claim on TV show Punto Pelota on Monday that, "We know he wants to come to Madrid, and that's understandable."

Toulalan, 30, who joined Monaco from Malaga this summer, said in an interview at the Sportel convention, however, that from what he had seen, Falcao has no intention of immediately cutting short the five-year deal he signed at the Stade Louis II.

"You can never say never in football, we don't know what can happen. But Falcao's playing rather well with Monaco,” Toulalan said. “Unlike certain strikers, you can see that he also works for the team and defensively. I don't get the impression that he wants to leave."

That situation may change should Monaco fail to qualify for next season's Champions League, though the current Ligue 1 leaders, who remain unbeaten this season, have started well and have sufficient quality to suggest that is unlikely.

The club have also denied the existence of a clause in Falcao's contract which allows him to leave if Madrid come in for him at the right price. Like Sergio Aguero before him, the former Porto striker was reportedly unable to move across town from Atletico to their neighbours due to the existence of a 'non-aggression pact' between the pair, meaning they cannot take players directly from one another.
