Perez fuels Falcao to Real Madrid talk

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has suggested that Monaco striker Radamel Falcao wants to join the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu club next summer.

Radamel Falcao celebrates after converting an early penalty for Monaco.
Falcao is considered to be one of the world's deadliest strikers.

• Rigg: Time for Tinkerman

Falcao left Atletico Madrid for Monaco in a reported 60 million euros transfer last summer, and was then almost immediately linked with a move back to the Spanish capital in the Madrid-supporting press.

While the Colombian international himself was quick to describe those reports as "lies", the Blancos president was happy to leave the idea of a move next summer open when speaking on TV talkshow Punto Pelota.

"[Falcao] will not come here in January, but in June, who knows..." Perez said. "Nothing is impossible and there is a long time between now and then. Falcao is a really great player and I believe he wants to play at Madrid. I know that, it is something normal. I have been told that."

Karim Benzema is currently the only senior specialist No. 9 on Madrid's books, and the France international's poor start to the season has led to further speculation the club could move for another centre-forward as soon as January, with Liverpool's Luis Suarez another name to regularly feature.

Asked about the possibility of a move for Suarez, who last summer spoke of his dream of pulling on Madrid's white shirt, the Blancos chief was again careful with his message.

"[Suarez] is also a great player," said Perez. "But we cannot fit everyone in."
