Paul Pogba plays down talk of exit

Paul Pogba has insisted he is happy at Juventus and did little to encourage talk of a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Pirlo to decide Juve future
Rzouki: Pogba solution

Pogba’s future has been subject to speculation in Italy after club president Andrea Agnelli said this week: “I’m trying to think of what will be in two or three years’ time if we get a massive offer for one of the best talents we’ve got today, Pogba, the French 20-year-old.

“Will we be able to retain him? I don’t know. I don’t think, at the moment, we have the strength to retain such a player.”

However, the player’s agent, Mino Raiola, then calmed talk of an exit, telling Tuttosport: “Nobody in the world can refuse a ridiculous offer, but Paul is happy and relaxed in Turin. Paul wants to renew his contract and no offers have arrived for him.”

On what might happen if an offer did arrive, he added: “The club would not need to worry.”

Pogba also did nothing to suggest he would be pushing for a move when interviewed by Sky Italia after France’s 6-0 win over Australia at PSG’s Parc des Princes stadium.

Asked whether his enjoyment of playing in Paris had been affected by Agnelli’s remark, he insisted: “No, no, no -- I’m with France now and I’m thinking about doing well here. Later, when I return to Juve, I will think about Juve.”

Pressed on how he felt about PSG’s reported interest, he said: “I don’t know. As I’ve said before, I’m at Juve. We haven’t talked about the contract or anything else yet. I’m happy at Juventus.”

He then stressed that his agent would deal with such matters, adding: “My focus is on football.”

Juve's Simone Padoin, speaking after Italy's 2-2 draw with Denmark, told Sky that Pogba is an "incredible player, destined to become the strongest midfielder in the world" and said: "Of course, speaking for myself and for all the Juventus fans, we really hope Paul can stay with us."
