Transfer Rater: Real target Auba and Hazard

Sandro Rosell hails Thibaut Courtois

Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has suggested the club could move for goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to replace Victor Valdes next summer.

Thibaut Courtois is considered one of the best young goalkeepers in world football.

Rosell takes credit for finances

Courtois, 21, has been on loan at Atletico Madrid from Chelsea since 2011, and has impressed with his performances as Los Colchoneros won three trophies in the last two seasons.

The Belgium international regularly talks about how happy he is at the in-form La Liga outfit, but in September did claim that he had no fear of battling with Petr Cech for a starting spot at Stamford Bridge, and would likely be doing so next season.

Now Courtois has indicated on radio show El Larguero that his club might look to do business with Chelsea should Valdes leave next summer when his current contract with the Catalan club ends.

"Courtois is a 'keeper who I like a lot,” he said. “He is very good.”

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina -- currently on loan at Napoli -- has also said he would be keen to move to Barca in the summer.

Nonetheless, Rosell has insisted that his primary option would be to convince Valdes to change his mind and sign a new contract to remain at the Camp Nou.

“We will try and convince him until the end,” Rosell said.

Courtois joined Chelsea for five million pounds from Belgian club Genk in June 2011 but has not yet played for the London club.
