Borussia Dortmund face injury crisis

Borussia Dortmund could be without up to ten players for their next Bundesliga game against Hannover on October 19.

Klopp was linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea.
Jurgen Klopp will have to make do without a number of his players against Hannover.

During Saturday’s 2-0 loss to Borussia Moenchengladbach, Dortmund midfielders Nuri Sahin and Sven Bender both suffered injuries and are set to be out of action for three weeks and ten days respectively.

Fellow midfielders Marco Reus and Jonas Hofmann have also been ruled out with injuries, while centre-back Mats Hummels is suspended for one game after picking up a red card against Moenchengladbach. Reus will be sidelined for two weeks with an ankle injury, while Hofmann is not set to return to training for at least ten days.

Dortmund are already without long-term absentees Sebastian Kehl and Ilkay Gundogan -- with no return date given yet for the midfield pair.

Greece international Sokratis Papastathopoulos also missed Saturday’s clash against Moenchengladbach with a thigh injury, along with Germany international Marcel Schmelzer.

And with Lukasz Piszczek not expected to return until 2014, Dortmund could be without up to ten possible starters for the game against Hannover.

To make matters worse, just three days later the Bundesliga side travel to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal in the Champions League without their suspended coach Jurgen Klopp.
