Mourinho irked by De Bruyne questions

Jose Mourinho walked out of his pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea's Champions League clash with Steaua Bucuresti after becoming upset by the line of questioning from the media.

Worrall: Blues revitalized
Torres shines against Spurs

Mourinho became fed up after Kevin De Bruyne's omission from the trip to Romania was brought up by the waiting media. De Bruyne was eligible to be involved but Mourinho says he wasn't impressed with the way the Belgian played last week against Swindon in the Capital One Cup, nor with his recent performances in training.

The Portuguese boss also appeared to be riled over weeks of questioning about Juan Mata's absence from Chelsea's starting line-up. Mata came off the bench to set up Chelsea's equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Saturday, and Mourinho said the forward will start on Tuesday.

The Chelsea boss embarked on a tirade at the gathered press and abruptly rose from his seat before another question could be asked, saying "see you tomorrow" and leaving behind a bemused Frank Lampard, who had been sitting next to him for the conference.

"You have this tendency to only ask about the guys who were not selected," Mourinho said. "This is fantastic. Nobody asks me about Mata. You are for three weeks speaking about Mata, now you're speaking about Kevin De Bruyne. You're not interested about the players who are playing -- you're interested about the players who are not playing.

"It was my decision. Only 11 can play, and 18 to be selected. I try to decide by what they do on the pitch when they play and what they do in training. This fellow here [Lampard] knows me nine years and he knows I make mistakes, but I try to be honest all the time, so in the same way I try to be honest with Juan and say that he's going to play tomorrow because of what he did in training and the last match he played.

"With Kevin it's the same. I did not like the last match he played against Swindon and I didn't like the way he was training."
