Lionel Messi was substituted during the first half of Barcelona’s La Liga victory at Almeria after picking up an injury.

Although Messi, 26, was only taken off as a precaution, the club confirmed via their official Twitter account that he sustained a right thigh muscle injury.
Barcelona also said that Messi will undergo additional tests on Sunday in a bid to determine the extent of the injury.

Coach Gerardo Martino was unable to confirm if Messi is set to face an extended period on the sidelines.
"Apparently Messi picked up small muscle strain in the back of his right leg when he scored," Martino said. "It's hard to say anything else until he undergoes additional tests."
Team-mate Adriano told AS: "Hopefully it's nothing and he's with us for the coming games because he's a very important player. With him, it's a different team."
The Argentina international opened the scoring for Barca in the 21st minute before departing in the 29th minute for Xavi.
Barcelona rested Xavi and Neymar for the Primera Division game ahead of their Champions League tie against Celtic on Wednesday night.
Messi appeared in court alongside his father, Jorge, on Friday after claims the pair evaded evaded over €4 million in taxes between 2007 and 2009.
