Aussie Langerak makes UCL debut

Australian goalkeeper Mitchell Langerak made his Champions League debut for Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday when he came on after captain Roman Weidenfeller was sent off at Napoli.

After the hosts took a 1-0 lead, Weidenfeller was red-carded just before half-time in Naples for handling outside the area.

Poland winger Jakub Blaszczykowski was substituted to allow Langerak to come on and the Socceroos squad member made an immediate save from a free-kick.

Having joined Champions League runners-up Dortmund from A-League side Melbourne Victory in 2010, the 25-year-old Langerak has made seven appearances in the Bundesliga.

He is yet to make his debut for the Socceroos, but is part of the squad qualified for next year's World Cup and was on the bench for the 6-0 friendly defeat away to Brazil earlier this month.
