A key factor in Brisbane Roar's back-to-back championships - Ken Stead - has been named the A-League club's first football director.
Stead was slotted into the newly created role after spending the past four years as the club's football conditioning coach.
His role also includes the Roar's W-League team - formerly run and administered by Football Queensland - with plans to expand his responsibility to junior development.
"As the only A-League and W-League club in the state, we take the responsibility of inspiring young Queenslanders to play, enjoy and succeed in football very seriously," Stead said.
"My role will be to ensure this continues to happen while developing both male and female footballing talent and protecting and progressing Brisbane Roar's characteristic style of play and philosophy."
Roar managing director Sean Dobson said the new role was created as a result of an ongoing strategic review of the football department.
