Hull City have re-signed Mohamed ‘Gedo’ Nagy on a season-long loan from Egypt’s Al Ahly but a move for West Brom’s Shane Long has failed to materialise.
Gedo impressed during a six-month spell with the Tiger last season, scoring five goals as the club secured promotion to the Premier League.
But despite Hull and the 28-year-old both expressing the desire to continue the partnership, Gedo’s home club, Al Ahly, rejected Hull’s initial offer.
However, only a few hours later the transfer was confirmed after the player penned a new deal with the Egyptian side.
“The club have accepted Hull's offer after Gedo penned a new deal,” An Al Ahly statement read. “Gedo's contract was due to expire at the end of the season. He is now tied to the club until 2016."
Meanwhile, Hull’s chase for West Brom striker Long looks to have failed with the 26-year-old’s potential move falling through at the eleventh hour.
