Allegri: Kaka welcome at Milan

Kaka would be welcome back at AC Milan if he is able to secure a move away from Real Madrid, Massimiliano Allegri has said.

• Paul: Kaka to join Milan?

The Milan boss remains keen to strengthen his young side in the final hours of the transfer window following an opening day defeat in Serie A against Verona.

Kaka, who has fallen out of favour at Real, talked openly of his desire to move away from Spain on Thursday, leading to speculation about a return to the club where he won the league and Champions League during his time between 2003 and 2009.

Allegri said: "If he was to come, AC Milan would be stronger because he is a player with great quality.

"We would need him and he would offer a great contribution from a technical and charisma point of view, even though he hasn't played a lot in the last two seasons.

"I am confident in what the club will do in the last days of the market."

Meanwhile, Milan have moved to secure the services of Slovenia international winger Valter Birsa from Genoa.

A statement on the club’s official website said a deal had been agreed which sees Luca Antonini move in the opposite direction: "Genoa Cricket and Football Club announce that they have acquired from AC Milan, in a permanent move, the rights to defender Luca Antonini.

"Everything has been formalised, with the same agreement confirming the sale of the rights to Valter Birsa."
