QPR midfielder Joey Barton has confirmed he turned down an approach from Crystal Palace, admitting "it is not the right move" for him.
Barton has started all of QPR's league fixtures this season after returning from a year-long loan deal with French side Marseille, impressing Harry Redknapp in his return to Loftus Road.
The English midfielder was expected to be part of the Rangers exodus as the London side were relegated to the Championship, but has thus far opted against a move away.
Reports earlier in the week suggested Everton and Crystal Palace have both expressed interest in signing Barton, and the 30-year-old revealed on Twitter that Palace made an offer which he has rejected.
@mr_seanhughes 3 dots are that they tried but its not the right move for me and my family right now. Hope they stay up as I like Holloway.— Joseph Barton (@Joey7Barton) August 28, 2013
