Vidosic quits Adelaide for Switzerland
Fringe Socceroo Dario Vidosic has quit A-League club Adelaide United to play in Switzerland.
Vidosic, who was Adelaide's marquee player, has joined Swiss Super League outfit FC Sion.
"I have really enjoyed my time in Adelaide, it's a bit sad leaving ... but this is a great opportunity that I couldn't knock back," he said in a statement on Monday.
The Croatian-born attacking midfielder joined Adelaide in 2011 after a four-year stint in Germany and was always keen to return to Europe.
His transfer, for an undisclosed fee, is a blow to Adelaide ahead of the A-League season starting in October.
"Dario was club champion last season, he has played some great games," United's football operations manager Michael Petrillo said.
"Whilst leaving a big hole to fill ... over the ensuing weeks we will explore any other suitable options that will strengthen the squad."
Vidosic has played for Australia 18 times.
