Manchester City have sold winger Denis Suarez to Barcelona, who have paid a reported initial £1 million for the 19-year-old.
Suarez is expected to go into Barcelona’s B team rather than Gerardo Martino's first-team squad.
He joined City from Celta Vigo two years ago and made two appearances for the club, both in the Capital One Cup.
The Spain youth international, who helped his country’s Under-19 team win the 2012 European championship, was compared to his compatriot David Silva.
However, he struggled to get into City’s senior side under Roberto Mancini, and now Manuel Pellegrini has allowed him to return to Spain.
Suarez became the second winger to leave the Etihad Stadium on Thursday after Scott Sinclair signed for West Brom on a season-long loan.
