Paul Pogba going nowhere, Juve insist

Juventus have said midfielder Paul Pogba, reportedly interesting Arsenal, is “going nowhere”, despite having given the go-ahead for Alessandro Matri and Fabio Quagliarella to leave.

Pogba has greatly impressed since joining Juventus from Manchester United last summer
Pogba changed the Supercoppa game when he came on.

The Old Lady are trying to offload Matri and Quagliarella in order to streamline their attack following the signings of Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente, but there is no room for negotiation when it comes to France international Pogba, general manager Beppe Marotta confirmed.

“They can forget about Pogba,” he told Tuttosport. “We don’t have even the slightest intention of listening to offers which could arrive for our midfielder.”

Juve’s stance is not purely due to the fact they have lost Claudio Marchisio for a month through injury, but also to the way in which Pogba, 20, is growing in stature with every game.

The Under-20 World Cup-winner changed the game when he replaced the injured Marchisio in the Italian Supercoppa victory over Lazio last weekend. His goal paved the way to Juve’s first piece of silverware of the season -- and he is expected to play a crucial role in them obtaining more -- while he also set up Tevez for the fourth at the Stadio Olimpico.
