Nantes' Djordjevic slams club officials

Nantes forward Filip Djordjevic has called club officials "amateur" after the administrative error which is likely to cost the newly-promoted side three points.

Yokhin: Nantes - Ligue 1's culture club

Djordjevic, 25, set the Canaries on their way to a welcome 2-0 win on their return to the top flight following a four-season absence with his first Ligue 1 goal since 2009. However, the cameo appearance of 19-year-old trainee Abdoulaye Toure, who came off the bench with 23 minutes left, means Michel Der Zakarian's squad's efforts are set to count for nought as the teenage midfielder should have been suspended for the game.

Nantes president Waldemar Kita claimed on Wednesday that those responsible for keeping track of players' disciplinary status at the club were on holiday, provoking the ire of Djordjevic.

"It's an amateur mistake. We have 50 or 60 employees at the club, 80% of them do nothing at all. When the coach told us, I didn't even want to go and train. Battle like idiots for nothing, it's incredible. We dug deep, took the blows, I had cramp, and those responsible are on holiday. I've been here for five-and-a-half years, and I don't know what these people do."

A January 2008 signing from Red Star Belgrade, the Serbian forward played a key role in propelling the 2000-01 Ligue 1 champions back into the big time, scoring 20 times last season, as many goals as he had scored in his three previous second-tier campaigns.

That performance had led Nantes to consider cashing in on Djordjevic, but with no club as yet willing to meet their €5 million asking price for the Serbian international, his future remains undecided.

"We'll see. I'm not worried about it. It won't be a problem [if I don't leave] because I feel good here. I like this country, this league. I've already asked for French nationality, because I feel French."
