Ronaldo refuses to discuss Mourinho

Cristiano Ronaldo has again declined to speak about his relationship with Jose Mourinho, saying it is “not worth” commenting on his former Real Madrid coach.

- Lythell: Dreams into reality

Relations between the two are thought to have cooled significantly towards the end of their final season together at the Bernabeu, and the Chelsea manager told Punto Pelota in June that his former charge “thinks he knows everything”.

Mourinho’s recent remark -- during an interview with ESPN  -- that he had coached “the real Ronaldo” when he worked at Barcelona was also seen as a dig at the Portugal star.

The Madrid forward responded by telling ESPN Deportes the comment did not deserve a response and later added that holding grudges is “for losers”.

Nonetheless, speculation over the ‘feud’ continued around Wednesday’s friendly game between Portugal and Netherlands, which finished 1-1 after Ronaldo scored a late equaliser to cancel out Kevin Strootman’s opener.

Speaking in the Estadio Do Algarve mixed zone afterwards to a reporter from O Jogo, the Portugal captain stated he had nothing to say about “that person”.

“I am not going to say anything about that person. It is not worth it,” Ronaldo said. “Pardon me, but I am not going to talk about that person.”

Ronaldo was then asked if scoring against Chelsea in the recent pre-season International Champions Cup final meeting in the US had been extra special considering the circumstances, but he replied simply: “I enjoy scoring against all the teams.”

The former Manchester United attacker was more comfortable when asked about his relationship with new Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti, who recently praised Ronaldo for his attitude.

“I like how he works,” Ronaldo said. “He is a great man and a great coach.”
