Denmark international Christian Eriksen has hinted that he would be open to move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer, but he appears to be in no rush to leave current club Ajax.
Eriksen has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and, while Liverpool have also been mentioned as a possible destination, the 21-year-old has indicated that he would welcome a reunion with his former Ajax team-mate Jan Vertonghen.
“Tottenham are a great club,” he told Danish newspaper BT. “I know from Vertonghen that it is a good club which is interesting, but there has not been any contact.
“I do not know if I am going to leave Ajax. We'll find out in two weeks. There are, to my knowledge, no negotiations right now either with a new club or Ajax. If there is a good approach, I see as an opportunity to try something new, but if nothing comes, I do not mind staying.
“There are Russian clubs that have called and made bids for me. I did not take much time to refuse. I would like to join one of the five major leagues. I have the view that I do not want to go to Russia at my age. I do not look at the money.”
Eriksen scored 13 goals for Ajax last season.
