Fiorentina fans may have to wait until the very end of the transfer window before learning whether AC Milan target Adem Ljajic will remain with the club.
Serbia international Ljajic, 21, has yet to commit himself to the new contract Fiorentina have offered. Milan are hovering, awaiting developments after their previous bids for the player were rejected out of hand.
Ljajic, who has a year to run on his current contract, appears to be keen to move on but Viola director of sport Daniele Prade suggested nothing has been decided yet.
“We’ll know everything on September 2,” he told Radio Blu. “It all boils down to situations that seem big, but which can be resolved in a matter of two minutes.”
Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella has already stated that he would like the player to stay, but not if he is not convinced about remaining with the club.
Meanwhile, Fiorentina have no intention of signing former Inter Milan goalkeeper Julio Cesar from Queens Park Rangers, according to Prade.
“It’s not even a possibility so you can absolutely forget about it,” he said. “Besides, we already have two goalkeepers.”
