Bakkali nets hat-trick in PSV rout

Zakaria Bakkali celebrates after completing his hat-trick for PSV.

Teenage striker Zakaria Bakkali introduced himself to the Eredivisie in style by scoring a hat-trick on his home league debut for PSV Eindhoven.

The 17-year-old Belgian, who opened his account for PSV against Zulte Waregem in a Champions League qualifier this week, stole the show as NEC Nijmegen were dispatched 5-0 at the Philips Stadion.

It took just six minutes for Bakkali to open the scoring by blasting under the crossbar from the left edge of the six-yard box and four minutes before the break he took aim from the other side and successfully picked out the far corner.

Georgino Wijnaldum added a third goal on 61 minutes and matched Bakkali on a brace with a flick under Karl-Johan Johnsson 15 minutes from the end.

The evening belonged to Bakkali, however, and he rounded off a prodigious display with a jinking run down the left wing before cutting inside to complete a memorable hat-trick.

PEC Zwolle also made it two wins from two after leaving Heracles with all the points from a 3-1 win.

Jesper Drost needed just a minute to score and Kamogelo Mokotjo (13) doubled the advantage before Maikel Van der Werff helped the hosts out with an own-goal just before the break.

The second half was understandably tense but Guyon Fernandez finally calmed Zwolle's nerves with a third goal on the stroke of full-time.

Elsewhere, Go Ahead Eagles picked up their first win of the season by downing ADO 2-1 in Deventer.

Xandro Schenk watched his 21st-minute opener being cancelled out by Mike van Duinen in the 37th minute but Marnix Kolder saved the day nine minutes from time.
