Fulham wrap up Adel Taarabt loan

Fulham have confirmed the signing of Adel Taarabt from Queens Park Rangers on a season-long loan.

QPR's Adel Taarabt shows his frustration during the visit of Manchester City
Taarabt struggled to make a significant impact in the top flight last season.

• Smith: Taarabt takes easy route

Taarabt worked with Fulham boss Martin Jol during their time together at Tottenham before the Moroccan moved to QPR on a temporary then permanent basis.

The attacking midfielder made 31 Premier League appearances for QPR last season, scoring five goals, yet was unable to prevent their relegation.

But he will continue to ply his trade in the top flight after Fulham made a move for his services on a loan basis.

Taarabt, who was named the Football League Player of the Year in 2011, started his career at Lens before moving to Tottenham in 2007.

"This was a difficult decision for me, but at this stage of my career I feel I need to be playing at the top level," Taarabt said.

"I hope the fans understand my decision and I really hope to return to Loftus Road one day.

"I wish QPR well for the season and hope they achieve promotion back to where I believe the club belongs."
