Striker Brendon Santalab has left the Chinese Super League to return home and play for the Western Sydney Wanderers in Australia's A-League, the club said on Friday.
Santalab, 30, scored 15 goals in 35 appearances playing in the Chinese Super League for Chongqing Lifan last season.
"I'm really excited to be back in Sydney with the opportunity to join the Wanderers," Santalab said. "I played with (manager) Tony Popovic at Sydney FC and know the standard he sets so it will be great to be part of that as a player.
"I've also heard a lot about the amazing atmosphere at 'Wanderland' and can't wait to play in front of the fans and western Sydney."
Western Sydney Wanderers, who were beaten by the Central Coast Mariners in last season's A-League grand final, will be playing for the first time in the AFC Champions League in the 2013-14 season.
