Aleksandar Kolarov said he is flattered that Juventus are interested in him but hopes to stay at Manchester City and win his place back in the team.

The Serbia international has been a target of the Serie A champions while Galatasaray were reportedly keen on taking him to Turkey.

But Kolarov, who only started 11 Premier League games last season, hopes to persuade new manager Manuel Pellegrini of his worth and to displace Gael Clichy from the City side.

He told Tuttosport: "I'm well at City and I hope to convince Pellegrini of my qualities and to play as much as possible next season.

"The interest of important and prestigious clubs like Juventus pleases me, but I won't decide alone about my future."

The 27-year-old joined City from Lazio for £19 million in 2010 and did not rule out a return to Serie A at some stage in the future.

He added: “I can say that I was fine in Italy and that I like Italian football. If something will happen, this will first be decided between two clubs.”
