Diego Lugano returns to PSG training

Diego Lugano is back training with the Paris Saint-Germain first team this week, but the Uruguayan defender's future still appears to lie away from the French capital.

Diego Lugano will be hoping for more game time at Malaga
Diego Lugano has made just 12 league appearances for Paris Saint-Germain.

Lugano, 32, has rejoined Laurent Blanc's senior squad at their temporary base at Clairefontaine after spending last week training with the reserves. However, after a loan spell last season in Spain with Malaga, a permanent move away from the Parc des Princes looks likely for him this summer, with sports daily L'Equipe reporting that England and Turkey are possible destinations for the man who captained Uruguay to glory in the 2011 Copa America.

Earlier this week, reports in France linked Lugano with moves to Antalyaspor and West Bromwich Albion, and he is unlikely to figure in Blanc's squad for this Saturday's Champions Trophy, which will see PSG take on French Cup holders Bordeaux in the Gabonese capital of Libreville.

That game should also come too soon for another defender, Brazilian summer signing Marquinhos, who is still recovering from an infection.

Lugano joined PSG from Turkish giants Fenerbahce in the summer of 2011 but has made just 12 league appearances for the club in two years.
