Lewandowski focused on Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski insists he will give his all for the club on the pitch next season despite his desired move to Bayern Munich seemingly being put back by a year.

- Schaaf: Bayern beaten in Supercup

The Poland international has been in the centre of a long-standing transfer which has seen Dortmund block his move to Bayern this summer, having already seen midfielder Mario Gotze join their Bundesliga rivals. Lewandowski is now set to see out his contract at Dortmund and move to the Allianz Arena on a free transfer in 2014.

Speaking to Sky after Dortmund’s 4-2 victory over Bayern in the Supercup at the weekend, Lewandowski had admitted he still had “problems” with “certain people”. The statement is widely believed to be aimed at Dortmund CEO Aki Watzke, who replied he “can accept that Robert bears a small grudge” against him.

However, Tuesday's edition of Bild quotes the striker as saying he will not bring any issues he has was the Dortmund hierarchy onto the pitch next term.

“I will give it my all for Dortmund," he said. "It does not matter what happened. It does not interest me on the pitch. When I am out there and play, I only think about BVB. I want to give my best and be successful.”

Lewandowski also expressed his hope that the Supercup will “not be the last trophy” and Dortmund CEO Watzke added: “Robert plays just like I expected.”

While he did not score on Saturday, Lewandowski showed no signs of frustration in his first competitive match for Borussia this season and was a constant threat against the side which beat Dortmund in last season's Champions League final and where he hopes to move.
