West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has confirmed his club remain interested in Lille forward Salomon Kalou.

Kalou, 27, left Chelsea a year ago to play for the Ligue 1 side, but he has been linked with a return to the Premier League, with West Brom thought to be interested in his services.
The Daily Mirror had reported that the Ivory Coast international had turned down a move to Upton Park, but Allardyce remains hopeful a deal can be reached.
“I think that, as far as I know, the West Ham chairman is speaking with the player’s agent,” he told Sky Sports News. “We understand the player wants to come back and play in England. Whether that’s with us or whoever, we’re having a look at it.
“Obviously from his record at Chelsea and his goal-scoring record last season in France, and his age, he’s very appealing to us.”
However, the Hammers boss acknowledged that — as the Mirror had reported — the player would want to operate in a central role.
“What regular position he wants to play may be the stumbling block,” Allardyce said.
