Yannick Sagbo set to join Hull

Ivory Coast international Yannick Sagbo is set to join Premier League side Hull City after Ligue 1 club Evian announced an agreement had been reached to sell the striker.

Sagbo scored six Ligue 1 goals last season.

Sagbo, 25, was reported to have travelled to England for a medical in Yorkshire ahead of sealing a move for a fee of around £3 million.

"ETG FC wishes every success to Yannick for the rest of his career," the French club said when announcing the agreement via a statement on their official website.

The France-born forward came through the ranks at Monaco before moving to the club near the Swiss border in 2010, since when he has scored 25 league goals.

Hull have yet to comment on the deal, but manager Steve Bruce spoke of his interest in the player earlier this week.

"He's a little bit different to what we've got," Bruce told Monday's Hull Daily Mail. "He's quick, he's direct and he wants to run in behind.”

The Tigers have already brought in George Boyd, Maynor Figueroa, Curtis Davies, Ahmed Elmohamady, Allan McGregor and Steve Harper in preparation for their return to the Premier League after they were relegated in 2010, while Bruce is also hopeful of bringing in Wilson Palacios from Stoke City.
