Jese pens new deal at Madrid

Real Madrid forward Jese Rodriguez has signed a new contract that ties him to the club until 2017.

There are hopes Jese can make a significant impact this season.
Jese had attracted interest from clubs in Spain and England.

Rigg: Real attacking dilemma

Marca reported that Jese’s wages will be increased dramatically to more than €1 million a year and he will be moved up to the first team. His contract contains a €200 million buy-out clause.

“I’m very happy to have signed a new contract and to be playing for the best team in the world. I will give my all for the badge,” the striker wrote on Twitter.

There is widespread belief at the Bernabeu that Jese has a bright future and could end a barren spell for Real Madrid youth-team players attempting to make their names in the first team.

Raul, Guti and Iker Casillas, who all came through the ranks at Madrid, were the backbone of the side for years, but in recent seasons no youngster has made the step up to become a first-team regular.

Last season Jese scored 22 goals in 38 games for Real Madrid Castilla — the highest tally ever reached by a Castilla player in Spain's second division.
