Hull eyeing Palacios deal

Hull manager Steve Bruce has admitted he would like to sign Wilson Palacios for a third time.

Wilson Palacios is set to leave Stoke
Palacios has been linked with a move away from Stoke.

The City manager took the Honduras international midfielder to first Birmingham and then Wigan, where Palacios’ form earned him a £12 million move to Tottenham.

And now Bruce is keen to be reunited with the 29-year-old, who he hopes to take to the KC Stadium on a season-long loan from Stoke.

But while Palacios only made four Premier League appearances for the Potters last year, his wages could be a problem for Hull, who are trying to operate within a tight budget.

Bruce told the Hull Daily Mail: “We're not sure if Stoke are willing to let him go but if he did become available we would be interested of course. We have to wait to see if Stoke say he is surplus to their requirements but he's a player I've worked with before and like."

Bruce is also trying to sign Evian striker Yannick Sagbo and Hull are in talks about a deal for the 25-year-old, who scored six times in Ligue 1 last year.

"We're in conversations," Bruce added. "My chief executive is speaking with Evian and we're hopeful that we can get something done because he would be a good addition.

"He's a little bit different to what we've got. He's quick, he's direct and he wants to run in behind.”

Former Monaco forward Sagbo will reportedly cost Hull £1.6 million and Bruce added: "It's hard talking about a player who belongs to another club but there has been dialogue and we'll see where it takes us. We'll be patient and see what develops."

Bruce wanted to bring in two forwards in the summer transfer window and secured his first attacking arrival last week when Danny Graham joined from Sunderland on a season-long loan.

After being frustrated in his attempts to sign Burnley’s Charlie Austin and Celtic’s Gary Hooper, Bruce is now close to completing his business in attack.
