Tello to fight for Barca place

Barcelona forward Cristian Tello said he is 100% committed to Barcelona and is determined to fight for his place in the first team.

Tello wants to prove himself alongside the likes of Lionel Messi.

Tello, 21, has been linked with several clubs in recent times but, despite the wealth of talent standing in his way in the Barca first-team, he aims to prove his worth at the Camp Nou.

“I am more than aware that I’m at the best team in the world and I know how good the players here are, but I hope that with hard work I can play more and more,” he said. “I do know that Barca have the best players in the world in my position, so I’m going to have to give it absolutely everything.”

The 21-year-old, who scored eight goals for the Catalans last season, is currently negotiating a new contract.

“My dream is to continue here and I’m determined to succeed at Barca, so I’m not interested in listening to any offers,” Tello said. “My agent is speaking to the club and everything is on the right track. I just want to stay here as long as I can.”

Tello also refused to criticise Thiago Alcantara for turning his back on the club and signing for Bayern Munich.

“Bayern have made a great signing," he said. "He decided to leave and I just want to congratulate him and wish him all the best.”
