Flamengo linked with Santos loan

Flamengo boss Mano Menezes is hopeful of securing the services of Arsenal full-back Andre Santos.

Andre Santos has made just 13 Premier League starts for Arsenal since joining them in 2011
Santos suffered from a drop in form at Arsenal.

Santos, 30, has fallen out of favour at Arsenal and was sent out on loan to Gremio last season.

It is anticipated he will seal another move away from the Gunners for the 2013-14 season, and Flamengo are said to be the favourites for his signature.

Reports in Brazil claim a one-year loan agreement is close, and Menezes is excited by the prospect of linking up with the left-back, who played for Flamengo earlier in his career.

Menezes is quoted by Sambafoot as saying: "We all know Andre [Santos] well. He played for Flamengo in the past besides working with me at Corinthians.

"He is an experienced full-back, has played in many places, has a lot of quality, a player that will add a lot if everything works out and the deal becomes official."
