Manchester City midfielder Jack Rodwell says new manager Manuel Pellegrini is slowly introducing to his squad a style of football reminiscent of Barcelona.
Pellegrini took over from the sacked Roberto Mancini at the end of last season, and currently has his City players on a pre-season tour of South Africa.
After experiencing success in Spain with Villareal and Malaga, Pellegrini is now evidently making his mark on a City side aiming to reclaim the Premier League crown from rivals United.
Rodwell told The Sun: "Pellegrini likes us to press high up and press in numbers, to get the ball back as soon as possible and then play simple football.
"He wants us to keep the ball until we're in the final third and then see. It's early and he hasn't gone into too much detail - he's gradually
"You look at Barcelona and what they do and it works for them so hopefully we'll adapt."
