Bender: Lewandowski hasn't changed
Borussia Dortmund midfielder Sven Bender says Robert Lewandowski's attitude has not changed despite the long-running saga of his potential transfer to Bayern Munich.
Lewandowski, 24, had repeatedly voiced his desire to move from Dortmund to the club that ended up defeating them in the Champions League final at Wembley.
Lewandowski joined Dortmund's pre-season build-up last week and was on target in a 4-1 friendly win over Bursaspor at the weekend.
And speaking at a press conference on Monday, Bender, 24, said the striker had not changed during the summer break.
"We are a great team and we have a fantastic spirit," he said. "He's just like last year. He is committed, gives it his all and is the Robert he has always been."
Bender said he believed Dortmund's new-look line-up, featuring recent arrivals Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, would sparkle, adding: "This is probably the fast attacking line I have ever played in."
The Germany international is one of four defensive midfielders competing for two spots, and is up against Ilkay Gundogan, Nuri Sahin and captain Sebastian Kehl for a place in the side.
"We were rotating that position last year and it did me good - even if you don't like to sit on the bench. That's not a problem," he said.
