Hamburg's on-loan defender Johan Djourou has suffered a muscle injury and will miss the club's second pre-season camp in Klagenfurt.
Djourou, at the Bundesliga club on a season-long basis from Arsenal, was substituted only 16 minutes into his debut for Hamburg in a friendly against FC Liefering. He had played for Hannover on loan last season.
The Switzerland international had initially hoped to be back for a pre-season cup competition in Hamburg over the weekend, saying: "I can't wait to introduce myself to the HSV fans."
But a scan revealed that he had injured his left abductor muscle, the club said.
Hamburg coach Torsten Fink had said he had been impressed with Djourou's short performance before the injury, saying: "What he had shown confirmed what we expect him to give us - more stability and skill at the back."
