Rummenigge 'disappointed by Nike'

Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has again hit out at Nike in the aftermath of the "Nikegate" controversy during the official presentations of Mario Gotze and Jan Kirchhoff.

Both Gotze and Kirchhoff are contracted to Nike and wore Nike clothing - but the German champions are exclusively contracted to Adidas, who voiced their disappointment at what had happened.

Bayern have fined Gotze, Kirchhoff and Italy-bound attacker Mario Gomez, who wore a Nike cap at the Bayern training camp, €10,000 each, with the money being donated to the victims of the recent floods in Germany.

"That's some good money for the flood victims," Rummenigge told Bild. "We won't put up with this any longer."

The Bayern chief said he was "disappointed by Nike", saying: "That's not fair play. They did that on purpose."

Meanwhile, Bayern's Champions League hero Arjen Robben has returned to training. The Netherlands winger has been praised by new boss Pep Guardiola, who called him "a gift to me".

"It's a terrific compliment, and it does make me a little proud," Robben told Bayern's official website."He's a great coach, and I've heard he really throws himself into training and talks a lot with the players. I'm really excited.

"I've had a number of outstanding coaches in my career, and now there's another one. I want to keep improving, and I think Pep Guardiola is the right man for that."
