Reus: We'll get closer to Bayern

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus has said his side will not finish 25 points behind Bayern Munich again next season.

After back-to-back titles, Dortmund finished second to the runaway Bundesliga winners last season, but Reus, 24, scored 19 goals in all competitions and was described as "world class" in kicker's end-of-season rankings.

The Germany midfielder, who joined Dortmund from Borussia Monchengladbach in a €17 million deal last summer, told the magazine: "In the decisive phases of last season, we just did not concentrate enough.

"It is striking that we drew twice with Bayern but lost points to other teams. It has to be our goal to change that in 2013-14. There will not be another 25 point deficit. I believe I can play better, and I want to further myself."

Reus said he did not know too much about attacker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, signed by the Champions League runners-up from St Etienne, explaining: "I don't really follow the French league. That's why I did not have him on my radar.

"I have now seen a couple of his goals. He is certainly very, very fast and dangerous."

After a short training camp the team returned to Dortmund on Saturday for a charity friendly against a team of celebrities, which they won 9-1.

Aubameyang, who has celebrated goals by wearing a Spiderman mask, inspired many in the crowd to wear Spiderman masks, with Bild saying: "Spiderman is Dortmund's new darling."
