“If the 23-year-old forward reaches an agreement with the Premier League club and passes a medical examination, he will sign a contract lasting several years in England. At AZ, Altidore had a contract until 2015.”

ESPN FC had been informed that AZ were seeking between €8 million and €10 million for Altidore.

The former Hull City and Villarreal player moved to AZ two years ago and has scored 38 goals in 67 appearances for the Eredivisie club.
