Joey Barton's agent has taken the blame for the player's late arrival for pre-season training at QPR.
For the record, I am brilliant at a lot of things but telepathy, isn't one.
Barton spent last season on loan with Marseille as Rangers were relegated from the Premier League, but has now returned to west London. However, Harry Redknapp says that Barton was sent "the same information as every other player" about when to report back following the summer break. On Wednesday Barton said on his official Twitter account:
Barton's agent Willie McKay told the Telegraph that the player wasn't at fault for the oversight.
He said: "It's my fault - I told Joey that it was Wednesday. There is no way he would want to report late for pre-season."
Meanwhile, Redknapp has admitted he is unsure about Barton's future with the player keen to secure a permanent switch to Marseille but also to be compensated for the reduction in pay he would likely have to take if he did leave Loftus Road.
"He wants to go to Marseille and he did very well there last year, but he's got two years left of his deal here," said Redknapp.
"I think he's looking for the club to give him a payday here and then he'll go. I don't know how it's all going to end."
QPR are thought to be interested in signing Scott Parker from Tottenham, a player who would fulfil the same role in the team as Barton.
Redknapp also cast doubt on the long-term nature of his own future at the club, saying he would consider quitting if he was unable to lead them back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
"If we don't make it I really won't be happy with what I've done and will have to look at what I do in the future," he said.
"For my own satisfaction, I have really got to get them up this year, that's where I'm at. I think we have a big chance."
