Borussia Dortmund are closing in on a deal to sign Saint-Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the German side confirmed on Wednesday.
Aubameyang, who scored 19 goals and made 14 assists in Ligue 1 last season, has been spotted in Dortmund this week as the Champions League runners-up attempt to finalise a contract for the Gabon international.
Sporting Director Michael Zorc revealed discussions are at an advanced stage.
"The Borussia [talks are] very far [along] with Aubameyang," he told Ruhrnachrichten. "We are confident that the transfer will be completed quickly. He won't be our last signing this summer.
"He is very quick and a great finisher, who can play various offensive positions."
Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke told WAZ he is confident a deal will be reached soon: "The contract has not been signed yet, but there are signs that the move will happen."
Aubameyang finally gained some stability when he joined Saint Etienne in 2010 after being loaned out to Dijon, Lille and Monaco while he was contracted to AC Milan.
The transfer fee for Aubameyang is reported to be around €13 million and Dortmund could confirm the deal as early as Thursday.
