Real Salt Lake holds off Toronto
TORONTO -- Yordany Alvarez scored just before halftime and Real Salt Lake beat Toronto FC 1-0 Saturday.
Up to that point, Toronto had created the better of the chances and looked more likely to score. The loss ended Toronto's three-game unbeaten streak.
Toronto nearly tied it three times in second-half stoppage time but RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando kept a clean sheet. Jeremy Brockie had two close range headers stopped and Steven Caldwell had a shot stopped seconds before the final whistle.
