Blackpool reject Ince resignation - report

Former England captain Paul Ince has reportedly offered his resignation as Blackpool manager after just 14 games in charge of the Seasiders. • Jolly: Pool heading down drain The Championship club have rejected Ince's offer, according to Sky Sports News, and while Blackpool are yet to deny the stories, they published a picture on their official Twitter feed of the 45-year-old taking training on Friday during a pre-season camp in Portugal.

Ince only took over at Blackpool in February after the club's previous manager, Michael Appleton, ended his two-month reign to move to Blackburn. The former Manchester United, Liverpool and Inter Milan midfielder had been out of management for almost two years since leaving Notts County. He had a brief spell managing in the Premier League with Blackburn and has had two stints in charge of MK Dons and one at the helm at Macclesfield. Ince recently travelled to the Under-20 World Cup in Turkey for an eight-day study visit as part of his bid to gain a UEFA pro coaching licence. He admitted he has grown frustrated during a difficult summer at Bloomfield Road where many stalwarts of the Blackpool side who played in the Premier League in 2010-11 have rejected new contracts and are set for moves to other clubs. "You can't prepare as well as you would like because you are playing catch-up to get players in, and how long do you wait to bring the right players in," he told the Blackpool Gazette earlier this week. "Most managers have most of their players from last season and are looking to add two or three. For me it's eight, nine or 10, so it isn't great as far as preparation is concerned. Midfielder Ludovic Sylvestre, a player Ince had hoped to keep, has agreed to join Turkish club Caykur Rizespor while left-back Stephen Crainey, who was offered a new deal, has been linked with Wigan.
