Hull complete Davies signing

Birmingham defender Curtis Davies has completed his move to Hull City after signing a three-year deal with the Premier League newcomers.

The 28-year-old is thought to have cost Hull £2.25 million and becomes manager Steve Bruce’s third summer signing after Peterborough midfielder George Boyd and Wigan left-back Maynor Figueroa.

The former England Under-21 international centre-back has previously played in the top flight for West Brom, Aston Villa and Birmingham and, after two seasons in the Championship, was eager to return.

"I feel I'm joining at an exciting time and the chance to play in the Premier League was also a huge attraction," Davies told Hull’s official website.

"It's something I've been lucky enough to do before and I wanted to get back. Hopefully I can help this team to have a good season and push as high up the table as possible. I can’t wait for Chelsea on the first day of the season now."

Bruce is also closing in on the signing of goalkeeper Allan McGregor from Besiktas and he is trying to bring in a striker.

Meanwhile, cash-strapped Birmingham have accepted offers, thought to be from Swansea and Norwich, for their highly-rated young winger Nathan Redmond.
