Swansea officials are ‘optimistic’ they can lure Dutch midfielder Jonathan de Guzman back to the Premier League for a second season-long loan deal.
The 25-year-old De Guzman starred for the Swans last season, scoring eight goals in 45 matches away from his parent club, Spanish side Villarreal.
However, the crowning moment for the Netherlands international was his brace in the Capital Cup One final win over Bradford.
And Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins hopes De Guzman will return to help the club continue to grow in the Premier League and Europe.
“I have met with Jonathan's agent and he is comfortable with where we are at,” Jenkins told the South Wales Evening Post.
“Hopefully we can tie something up with Villarreal soon. We are optimistic about that happening.”
