Blanc has support of PSG stars

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva are happy at the reports Laurent Blanc is set to lead them into the next Ligue 1 season as Paris Saint-Germain coach, their agents have told French media.

Ibrahimovic, 31, and Silva, 28, both publicly stated their disappointment that Carlo Ancelotti, 54, had asked to leave the club he had just steered to the Ligue 1 title a month ago.

The hunt to find a successor to the Italian appears to be drawing to a close with Blanc, 47, due in the French capital on Monday for talks to finalise his appointment as coach at the Parc des Princes.

Mino Raiola, Ibrahimovic's representative since his Ajax days, told the Journal du Dimanche his client would have no problem accepting Blanc as Ancelotti's replacement.

"Laurent Blanc is a big name, we're going to respect him. I've said it, and I repeat: Zlatan is staying at PSG," Raiola said.

While speculation had cooled that Ibrahimovic could leave the club he joined from AC Milan only last summer, Barcelona reportedly remain keen on enticing Silva to the Camp Nou.

The PSG captain recently admitted Ancelotti's presence had been a factor in him opting to move to France last summer from Milan in a €42 million move, however, his agent, Paulo Tonietto, insisted his client would also be happy to play under former France coach Blanc.

"Laurent Blanc cannot be a bad choice. He's been the France coach, he can't be bad. He's at the same level as the other names that have been cited so far. They're all great coaches," Tonietto was quoted as saying in the Journal du Dimanche. "Thiago Silva is happy in Paris and he's going to stay."
