Guardiola learns Bayern debut fate

Pep Guardiola's Bayern Munich will begin the defence of their Bundesliga title with a home game against Borussia Monchengladbach on August 9.

• Bundesliga 2013-14 fixtures

Guardiola's competitive debut as Bayern boss will come on July 27 as last season's Treble winners face Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup, before their Bundesliga meeting with Monchengladbach.

Dortmund's league campaign gets under way against Augsburg while Schalke take on Hamburg, in the 51st Bundesliga season.

In late November, on matchday 13, Dortmund's Westfalenstadion will host the repeat of the Champions League final between Dortmund and Bayern.

The winter break will begin on December 23 with action restarting on the weekend of January 24, and the season will end on Saturday, May 10.

Bayern's game away to SC Freiburg on matchday four will be brought forward three days due to their involvement at the UEFA Super Cup against Chelsea on August 30.

The biggest derby in Germany, the Revierderby between Schalke and Dortmund, will take place on matchday 10 at the Schalke Arena.

The two promoted teams both start with home games with Eintracht Braunschweig, who are back in the Bundesliga after an absence of 28 years, welcoming Werder Bremen and Hertha Berlin hosting Eintracht Frankfurt.
