Come to Madrid, Morata tells Isco

Alvaro Morata has said he wants Isco to join him at Real Madrid next season as the Malaga star prepares to make a final decision on his future.

Isco celebrates giving Malaga the lead on the brink of half-time
Isco is a man in demand

Isco, 21, is one of the hottest properties in world football after his sparkling displays at the European Under-21 tournament in Israel augmented the impression he had made during Malaga’s impressive Champions League and La Liga campaigns.

• Blog: Welcome to Madrid

Although Manchester City have made an offer to reunite Isco with his former Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini at Eastlands, Marca claimed the attacker would prefer to move to the Bernabeu and a deal could be agreed as early as Friday.

Morata, also 21, told AS he had been attempting to persuade Isco to move to Madrid.

“I tried to put pressure on him. I told him that Madrid was the best club in the world,” the centre-forward said. “I have known him for a while - I know he has the capacity to do the dribbles he does, so that does not surprise me.”

Isco was met by AS TV reporters on his return to Madrid’s Barajas airport on Thursday, but said only: “I am not going to talk about my future. I’m off on holidays.”

A few hours later, he tweeted a photo showing him and a friend enjoying a break in Ibiza.

Earlier this week, Malaga executive vice-president Moayad Shatat suggested his club’s most valuable asset would not be sold for anything less than the €35 million release clause in his new contract, which he signed in January.

The Andalucian club’s new coach, Bernd Schuster, said he knew he may not be able to count on the attacker being part of his squad next season.
