Manchester United will conclude the preparations for the defence of its Premier League crown with a pre-season match against Swedish side AIK.
United pre-season tour will take in Thailand, Australia, Japan and China before returning to Europe where the Red Devils will travel to Stockholm, Sweden to play at the recently opened Friends Arena on August 6.
"I'm delighted that the final game of our preparations for the 2013/14 season will be in the magnificent new home of Swedish football," United chief executive David Gill told the club's official website manutd.com. "This match is our first against AIK and will provide a tough test for the players as the new campaign approaches.
"As a club, we have visited Sweden many times and, of course, one of our Treble winners of 1999, Jesper Blomqvist, appeared 30 times for the Swedish national team, as well as playing – and scoring – against United for Gothenburg in the Champions League."
AIK managing director Thomas Edselius added: "From AIK's side, we are looking forward to this opportunity to play against one of the most successful clubs in the world."
"Our ambition is to consistently play in the European cups and we are therefore always interested in playing against top-level."
CEO of Friends Arena Thomas Perslund said hosting the Premier League champions would be an 'unforgettable' experience.
"We are proud to have Manchester United at Friends Arena and I am sure this game against AIK will be unforgettable for the football fans coming on 6 August," Perslund said.
